The Division: Three expansions for the Division
The Division has received a bunch of free updates since its launch. They added Incursions as a form of post-game content and while sometimes these updates improved the overall quality of the product, such as the better Dark Zone loot; they also broke random parts of the game, pushing several people away. In addition to these free updates, The Division comes with a Season Pass containing three major expansions for the game world. The first add-on, Underground that launched on Monday consists of randomised Underground Operations, which bring a new level of challenge and uncertainty to the missions.
Players had gotten used to exploiting bugs and loopholes in all areas so a procedurally generation dungeon will certainly be a challenge. It also adds a new Incursion called Dragon’s Nest in which players go against Cleaners. There are 4 new Gear Sets in the form of B.L.I.N.D., DeadEYE, Firecrest and Reclaimer. Judging by the launch trailer, players will take on The Four Horseman, a group of extremely powerful Cleaners. The expansion will launch alongside Update 1.3 which contains a whole list of improvements such as a new Dark Zone bracket for high level players, matchmaking into no-respawn areas, balancing the rewards for high value targets and much more.
The Division is in dire need of good new content and Underground must hit the mark in order to sustain a healthy player base. Underground can now be accessed by Xbox One and PC owners, with the PS4 version scheduled to launch on August 2nd. Following a similar release pattern will be the next expansion Survival, which adds a horde mode and Last Stand. These add-ons are scheduled to launch in Q3 and Q4 of this year respectively.
