Hyderabad: India Game Developer Conference (IGDC), South Asia’s largest and oldest gaming conference, returns for its 16th edition, from November 13 to 15 at the HICC. It is expected to draw over 5,000 attendees and 250 speakers.
About 150 sessions will cover recent developments in gaming. Among the marquee speakers is industry veteran Jordan Weisman, known for creating iconic franchises like BattleTech, MechWarrior and Shadowrun.
The conference will have a large expo area with over 100 booths and the events include the IGDC Awards Night, Indie Initiative, policy round tables and workshops. The investor-publisher connect session is expected to bring together more than 100 investors and publishers.
This year’s awards include one for international game. Sridhar Muppidi, president of Game Developer Association of India (GDAI), said that India’s gaming industry is among the world’s fastest-emerging markets with 442 million gamers and a 30 per cent annual growth rate.
