iPhone 17 Air to be Slimmer Than Samsung S25 Slim: Report

Tech giants Apple and Samsung are expected to launch their slimmer phones, the iPhone 17 Air and the Samsung S25 Slim, this year. Rumors suggest that the iPhone 17 Air might be slimmer than the Galaxy S25 Slim.

According to a recent report, the Galaxy S25 Slim is anticipated to be 6.5mm thick, which is 1mm thinner compared to the regular Galaxy S24. In contrast, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to be 6.25mm thick, as previously reported by Mark Gurman. The iPhone 17 Air will be 2 millimeters thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro. The current iPhone 16 Pro is 8.25mm thick, and if the iPhone 17 Air is 2mm thinner, then it will be around 6.25mm thick, making it the thinnest iPhone ever.

Although Apple might be ahead in terms of thinness, reports indicate that Samsung’s S25 Slim might have an advantage over Apple’s iPhone 17 Air in one area, which is the camera.

According to the leakster Ice Universe, Samsung’s upcoming S25 Slim smartphone will have three cameras, while the iPhone 17 Air will only have one. The S25 Slim will feature a 200MP main camera and an ISOCELL sensor with a 50MP resolution and 3.5x optical zoom.

Apart from the camera, the S25 Slim will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It is anticipated to have a battery capacity ranging from 4700mAh to 5000mAh.

As previously rumored, the “iPhone 17 Air” will have a 6.6-inch display, an A19 Chip, Face ID, a Dynamic Island, a 48MP rear camera, a 24MP front camera, 8GB RAM for Apple Intelligence, a non-physical SIM card tray, a single camera, and Apple’s 5G modem.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 Air in September of this year, alongside the entire iPhone 17 series lineup. In contrast, Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S25 Slim later this year.
