iPhone 17 Pro to Launch with These 8 New Features
Apple will launch the iPhone 17 series lineup in September 2025 and rumors suggest a significant changes in both the Pro models that includes a rectangular camera bump, a return to aluminum frames, powerful A19 Pro chip and more.
Here are the 8 new rumoured features:
Rectangular camera
The iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to feature a rectangular camera bump made of aluminium rather than traditional 3D glass. Apple might abandon the rounded square camera setup.
Aluminium frame
Apple is reportedly planning to bring back aluminium frames to the entire iPhone 17 lineup, that includes the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The back of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max may feature a half-aluminium and half-glass design.
Three 48MP cameras
Rumour suggests that the iPhone 17 Pro models - 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max - will have an upgraded 48MP Tetraprism camera. Both the iPhone 17 Pro models will feature a 1/1.3” 48MP main camera, a 48MP Ultra-wide lens, and a 48MP Tetraprism telephoto lens.
24MP Front camera
The iPhone 17 series lineup is expected to sport an upgraded 24-megapixel front camera.
12GB RAM
Both the iPhone 17 Pro models will come with 12GB of RAM, improving the performance of Apple Intelligence and multitasking. The iPhone 16 series features 8GB of RAM.
A19 Pro chip
The iPhone 17 Pro models will be powered by Apple’s next-generation A19 Pro chip. It is reportedly manufactured with TSMC’s newer third-generation 3nm process.
Apple’s Wi-Fi 7 chip
Rumours suggest that at least one iPhone 17 model will come with a Wi-Fi 7 chip designed by Apple.
Smaller Dynamic Island
The iPhone 17 Pro Max may feature a smaller dynamic island due to Apple implementing metalens for the Face ID system.
