Meta Plans to Add Display to its Ray-Ban Smart Glasses

Tech giant Meta is reportedly planning to add a display to its Ray-Ban smart glasses to show notifications or messages to users.

According to a report by The Financial Times, the company is planning to launch the glasses in the second half of 2025. The smart glasses have been a hit and the tech giant has been adding more features to it.
In April, Meta AI assistant was added to the smart glasses for the customers in the United States and Canada. Earlier this month, Meta added three new features to it like live AI, live translations and Shazam.
Currently, users depend on AI assistants to send messages or make calls but with the on-screen display, users can see notifications as well as messages. The on-screen displays on the glasses will be reportedly smaller.
In September, Meta demoed AR glasses called Orion. The prototype had a display and it received positive response but the company said it was too expensive to be in production yet.
Currently, Meta Smart Glasses is available in 15 countries including the US, Canada, Australia and throughout Europe. The price of the smart glasses starts at $299 (Rs 25,462).
