Samsung Galaxy Note 10 absolutely destroys iPhone 11 Pro Max in speed test

A real-world test shows that the iPhone 11 Pro Max loses out to the Galaxy Note 10 highlighting Apple’s RAM management issues.

At the iPhone event held in September, Apple somehow managed to blindside us when they announced the iPhone 11 series of handsets. Prior to the announcement and leading all the way up to right before the announcement, several leaks and rumours surfaced showcasing what the handsets would look like once they were launched and what features would accompany them. However, unlike previous generation iPhone leaks, nothing much what we saw leaked turned out to be true. Leaked renders and mock-ups of the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro were significantly off despite being similar design files that get stolen from Apple’s manufacturing plat Foxconn each and every year. Because of this, traits of Apple’s design were misrepresented in those renders that the actual handsets ended up looking nothing like the leaked depictions we saw leading up to the announcement.

When Apple launched its new iPhones, the stunning new design wasn’t the only plus point the company had on offer. The iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max all come with Apple A13 Bionic processors that are said to feature 20 per cent more power than that of its predecessor. One thing is for certain and as with every new generation of processors, we naturally expect major performance gains and the early benchmarks that are making their way online certainly prove Apple’s point. Now, with the latest iPhones being tested by reviewers the world over, a strange phenomenon has been seen with the latest iPhones not faring as well as they are expected to. Now, a real-world speed test has produced the most shocking results yet.

iPhone 11 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus

A popular YouTuber has conducted a real-world speed test that we have been eagerly wait for and the winner of this speed test comes as something of a shocker. The entire world is accustomed to seeing Apple’s latest iPhones destroy the competition in these app race videos; however, that’s not what happened in this video when the Apple iPhone Pro Max faced off against the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus.

iPhone 11 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus

As per a report by BGR, “As you can see in the screenshot above, the iPhone 11 Pro Max handily beat the Galaxy Note 10+ in the first “lap,” where a sequence of apps is opened in the same order on both phones. This lap tests how quickly each phone can perform under a heavy load. In the second lap, where the same apps are opened once again in the same order, the Galaxy Note 10+ pulled ahead when it beat the iPhone 11 Pro Max by a huge margin of 16 seconds.

The second lap tests how well a phone holds apps in RAM and recalls them from memory, and clearly, the iPhone 11 Pro Max falls short in this department. And unlike the speed test we showed you on Monday, the iPhone 11 Pro Max in this video is running iOS 13.1. Our minds immediately go back to 2017, when iOS 11 has serious RAM management issues that hindered the performance of Apple’s iPhone 8 and iPhone X lineup. In fact, the problems were so bad that Apple’s iOS 12 release was focused almost entirely on bug fixes, optimizations, and performance enhancements to the point were several big new features were delayed.”

As mentioned, does Apple’s iOS 13 and iOS 13.1 have similar RAM management issues? From the looks of it, this appears to be the case as these real-world tests shows.
