No Selfish Selfies!
The latest craze among phone buyers is dual lens camera devices. Oppo, entered this business having two lenses for its front camera, with the F3 Plus few months ago. Now, the Chinese maker has launched its successor, the F3.
The device comes with 16 plus 8 megapixel lenses for its front camera. Unlike other brands, who use two lenses for capturing in colour and monochrome, the Oppo F3’s one lens is for clicking normal selfies and the other is for capturing wide angle shots or groupies. The camera uses f/2.0 aperture with enhanced depth of field to get the wide angle shots right. If you remember the famous Ellen DeGeneres Oscar selfie, you will also remember how some of those celebrities were cut to mere head, nose or eyes.
That’s where we think this wide angle feature could be helpful, as it can easily fit a large group into one frame without looking too jammed. There is also the screen flash feature for low light conditions and a smart facial recognition feature, which automatically detects if there are two or more people in the frame and changes to the wide angle mode. It also has the Bokeh effect, if you wish to blur the background and focus more on your own selfie. For beautification and editing the device carries the Beautify 4.0 mode.
Oppo has lowered the megapixel count for the F3’s rear camera, but still it got us some decent shots. The 13 megapixels rear camera uses a 1/3-inch sensor and f/2.2 aperture. It has an ultra-HD mode for high definition pictures and an anti-shake feature that reduces blur for moving images.
While the entire industry is going the hybrid way and restricting the consumers to choose between extra memory or SIM card, the F3 comes with a triple slot tray that can accommodate two SIMs as well as a Micro SD card. The 4G device has an internal memory of 64 GB, expandable up to 128 GB. The finger print scanner is conveniently placed on the front face.
The F3 is a good looking device with a thin metal frame and curved body. Only the display size is smaller at 5.5 inches. The screen resolution is Full HD 1920x1080 pixels.
Powered by a 1.5 GHz MediaTek Octacore processor with 4 GB RAM, the F3 runs on Oppo’s proprietary Color OS 3.0. It is based on the slightly older version, Android 6.0. The 3200 mAh battery gives a decent life of one day. The F3 is reasonably priced at Rs 19,990.
