Android 9.0 Pie is served on OnePlus 6
OnePlus is preparing to launch the OnePlus 6T and teaser commercials for the same have already begun making the rounds. While it’s almost a given that the handset will launch with Android Pie, there is good news for those who have purchased the highly successful OnePlus 6.
OnePlus has recently announced that they are ready to roll out OxygenOS version 9.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie. And starting with this new update, the OxygenOS version number will correspond with the Android version number.
With OxygenOS 9, users will get a brand new UI for Android Pie. Also, there is a new adaptive battery support along with the Android 9.0 Pie gesture navigation. There is also the Google September security patch and with this update you will find new features and system improvements.
Other features in the change log include a new Do Not Disturb mode with adjustable settings, a new gaming mode that features an added text notification mode as well as added notifications for third party calls. And lastly, there is supported accent colour customisation.
This OTA will have a staged rollout. The OTA will be received by a limited number of users initially and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. Using VPN to download this build might not work as the rollout is not based on regions and is randomly pushed out to a limited number of devices.
