Radical new Apple leak poses major threat to iPhone 11
The Apple iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are by far some of the best handsets available in the market currently. Even though it was predicted to disappoint prior to its unveiling; Apple still managed to surprise us with some incredible camera hardware it has fitted in it. While the iPhone 11 range trumps other handsets, the design was probably the only limiting factor. Now, it appears that Apple seeks to rectify that with its upcoming iPhone 12 and this handset will come with a wow factor that’s not been associated with an iPhone since the 2017 iPhone X.
In a flurry of tweets, Apple insider and tipster, Ben Geskin has shared that 2020 Apple iPhone that’s currently dubbed as iPhone 12 will come with some major changes to the face of the handset and the company will boost 5G connectivity with new antenna technology.
This leak makes a lot of sense as even though Apple’s Face ID justified the rather large notch; it still looked outdated in comparison with other 2019 smartphones from Android rivals. Although it seems radical to think that Apple would fit its TrueDepth sensor in a tiny bezel at the top, the reduction of the notch would be a very welcome change.
A related report by Forbes states, “While Apple made a bold move in switching the iPhone 11 range to WiFi 6, it was more conservative not offering a 5G model to compete with rivals. That said, with the entire range already hotly tipped to upgrade in 2020, integrating larger, next-gen antennas makes perfect sense.”
For what it’s worth, Geskin has been pretty accurate in the past and his predictions have included details about the iPhone X prior to it being announced. However, his track record isn’t always perfect and this rumour should be taken with a grain of salt for now.
