SM-G970 5.8 flat display
SM-G973 5.8 edge display
SM-G975 6.44 edge display
In a recent tweet, Ice Universe has leaked the display sizes of the handsets and has detailed that the entry-level Galaxy S10 with the model number SM-G970 will feature a flat display which will be a deviation from their signature curved edge displays that have been found on handsets such as the Galaxy S9.
In the tweet, Ice Universe infers that Samsung will launch the 5.8-inch Galaxy S10 with both, a flat as well as a curved edge display. The entry-level variant is expected to have a lower quality in-display fingerprint sensor and no triple camera system on the rear.
As far as the top-end variants go, the SM-G973 and the SM-G975 are both expected to feature curved edge displays; there will also be a 5G version of the top-of-the-line variant.
As per a report by Forbes, Samsung as come under criticism for incorporating curved displays even though they are great to look at. The curve sides do no favours for the OS and can warp the user interface and also videos and pictures. On curved displays, accidental touches get registered and there is also notable impact durability; which is why the Active range of devices always came with flat displays.
However, as of now, it has to be noted that these leaks are still based on nothing factual and more information will be revealed closer to the release date. However, one thing is for sure, the Galaxy S10 is turning out to be one of the most hotly anticipated devices of 2019.
