Samsung Rolls Out Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification Feature for Galaxy Watch Users in India

Samsung announced the roll out of Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) for Galaxy watch users in India.

The South Korean tech giant says that the new feature combined with the existing Blood Pressure (BP) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) will help users to detect heart rhythms suggestive of atrial fibrillation (AFib).

Atrial fibrillation is irregular heartbeat, or arrhythmia. Atrial fibrillation, also known as AFib or AF, can lead to blood clots, stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications.

The new feature is available with the latest version of Samsung health monitor app. It uses the bioactive sensor to check for irregular heart rhythms in the background.

IHRN is available on the latest Galaxy Watch 7 ultra and Galaxy Watch 7 as well as older models including Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 series.

The Galaxy users have to update the Samsung Health Monitor app on their devices to use the feature through the Galaxy Store and enable the feature from the app’s settings menu.
