Sony unveiled the much awaited PlayStation 5 Pro console. The console will officially launch on November 7, 2024, with pre-orders starting on September 26.
The PS5 Pro will retail for $699.99, is the same height as the original PS5 and is compatible with existing PS5 accessories, including the PlayStation VR2 and DualSense Edge controllers.
Here are the key features of the PS5 Pro
Upgraded GPU: The PS5 Pro features a GPU with 67% more Compute Units and 28% faster memory compared to the current PS5 model which results in up to 45% faster rendering.
Advanced Ray Tracing: Enhanced ray tracing capabilities deliver dynamic reflections and refractions of light at double or even triple the speeds of the original PS5.
AI-Driven Upscaling: PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution uses AI technology to provide super sharp image clarity, adding exceptional detail to game visuals.
PS5 Pro will support more than 8,500 backwards-compatible PS4 games, with Game Boost features to stabilize or increase performance. It comes with the latest wireless technology, Wi-Fi 7 and supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and 8K gaming.
It will come with 2TB SSD, DualSense wireless controller and a pre-installed copy of Astro's Playroom. The PS5 Pro will be offered in a disc-free format and with an optional disc drive for the PS5.
