RGIA police identifies hoax bomb caller from Kamareddy district

Hyderabad: The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police on Thursday identified the caller, who called the police station and informed them that a bomb was planted at the airport and it would explode any time.

RGIA Sub-Inspector D Apparao said the caller belonged to Kamareddy district. Using his mobile phone, the caller made the call to the police station that he was resorting to such acts as several persons owed money. With the help of Call Data Record (CDR) details, the police traced the caller and questioned him only to find that he was suffering from mental illness.

Apparao, however, said that after receiving a call the police pressed into the bomb disposal squad and searched the premises thoroughly and confirmed that it was a hoax call bringing much needed relief to the police and the passengers.

Even as the police were heaving a sigh of relief after they stopped receiving hoax bomb calls, the caller from Kamareddy kept them on the edge once again.
