In good news for Android users, the much awaited release of the new OS 'Android 15' is official. But like in the old times is it named after a dessert?
Android 15 is internally code-named as 'Vanilla Ice Cream', but the company stopped naming the OS versions after desserts since 2019.

The earlier names of the Android versions, however used to be interesting with KitKat, Jelly Bean being the most popular ones.
The company would use the name of the dessert for marketing and branding. The logo would also be around it.

However, Android did not completely give up the tradition of naming OS versions after desserts.
They still name new versions after desserts but only as internal 'codenames', the current OS Android 14 was also named as 'Upside Down Cake.'
