Mpox is a rare zoonotic disease, which spreads from infected animals to humans, caused by Mpox virus.
The virus is transmitted to humans through physical contact with the infected person and also through infected blood, fluids and skin lesions
WHO declared Mpox outbreak as Public Health Emergency of International Concern on August 14
Symptoms
Rashes, Fever, Chills, Swollen lymph nodes, Exhaustion, Muscle aches and backache, Headache, Respiratory symptoms (e.g., sore throat, nasal congestion, or cough)
Treatment
There’s no specific treatment for monkeypox; supportive care, including fever and pain relief, is recommended, and symptoms usually resolve on their own
