Master planner: I want to build the best political teams, says Avinash Iragavarapu

With Donald Trump getting elected as the next POTUS, it has been a successful year for Avinash Iragavarapu, the executive director of the Arizona Republican party.

“2016 has been a great year though it was a lot of hard work and involved many sleepless nights on the campaign. I was travelling to various states right from the beginning of the year to understand the political landscape of the US and meet some of the best people. Many were skeptical as I gave up a cushy job to work in politics, but I am glad I followed my dream. My biggest achievement is getting kind messages from unknown people from different parts of the world after Trump’s victory. Some of them expressed that they were inspired by my journey and that they found new motivation to try out their out-of-the-box dreams. Being able to inspire other youngsters made me happy,” says Avinash.

He adds, “It was a tough campaign and I had to travel a lot and stay away from family. There were times when most of the polls predicted that we were going to lose. Despite that, we did the best we could and fought till the end.”

So what does he look forward to in 2017? “After the inauguration on January 20, I would like to take a month’s leave and relax. I haven’t taken a single day off since the last quarter of 2015. I plan to spend some quality time with family before I take up the next project.”

He continues, “While I will not be part of the administration, I will be in the political campaign field as I love the adrenaline rush! I look forward to being a part of political campaigns internationally. I will definitely work towards building the best political teams in India and other countries.”
