According to The Daily Mail, 53-year-old Le Kim Khai choked to death when food became stuck in his windpipe after his wife squeezed his testicles harder and harder, crushing them.
It was only when neighbours intervened that Khai’s wife, Phan Thi Kim Chuong, agreed to release her husband’s crushed private parts - but by then he was beyond medical help.
The incident began when Khai and his wife became involved in a violent fight after he had returned home and found the doors locked.
His wife and children refused to open the door, so he cut into it with a handsaw.
Khai, the head of a neighbourhood security unit, reportedly starting hitting his wife with fists, despite his daughters’ attempts to stop him.
In desperation, Chuong grabbed his testicles and squeezed them. Khai fell to the ground in pain, but his wife climbed over him and continued to squeeze his testicles hard.
Hearing a lot of screaming, neighbours rushed into the house, only to be witness to the scene. After a lot of persuasion and a call to the police, Chuong agreed to let go of her husband’s testicles, whose face had gone purple.
But Khai had slipped into unconsciousness during those five minutes and found to be dead on arrival at the hospital.
Doctors said that he had vomited food and choked on his own vomit due to the pressure exerted on his testicles. Khai thus died of suffocation.
The wife told police that she had been repeatedly assaulted over time by her husband and had only intended to ‘warn him’, not kill him.
