Imran Khan favourite to win, says Pervez Musharraf
Islamabad: Former Pakistan military ruler Pervez Musharraf has said that Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan was favourite for country’s premiership, but said he talked more than he listened.
In an interview, Mr claimed that some people had joined Mr Khan’s party who can win in the July 25 general elections, while few other others will join the ranks after winning polls.
The former military ruler said there would be a hung parliament and his All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) could tilt the balance.
Responding to a question, the former military ruler said that Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leader Maryam Nawaz was immature for politics. “There wouldn’t be anyone better than Imran Khan for country’s premiership,” he said.
Imran Khan, he said, has good qualities, therefore
“I think he is better than Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif,” adding that he thinks the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chairman was an honest man and least corrupt.
Commenting about his return to Pakistan, the former military ruler said: “I haven’t decided. There are many issues involved and I am weighing all the pros and cons over the next few days and I will then take a decision.”
