MQM supports Imran Khan's PTI to form government

More independents to join for government formation.

Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Friday gained Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s support to form the government.

An MQM delegation led by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui met PTI chief Imran Khan at his Bani Gala residence in Islamabad.

Matters pertaining to coalition for government formation were discussed, said a PTI statement. MQM, with six members, put forward various demands to join the government. The party, after consultation with Rabita Committee, demanded to stop targeted operation and to reopen its offices in Karachi. It also sought vote recount in 12 constituencies of Karachi.

Meanwhile, at least two more independent Members of National Assembly (MNA) are set to join the PTI as the party gears up to form government in centre and Punjab.

MNA Ali Muhammad Mehar from Ghotki and MNA Shabeer Qureshi from Muzaffargarh have settled the matters with PTI. Now, the tally of independent MNAs in party will rise to eight.

Talks are on to get the support of two MNAs.
