India has plans to hit again in April, says Pakistan

The foreign minister said keeping in view these facts, the foreign office immediately decided to hold a meeting of P5 ambassadors.

Islamabad/Delhi: Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Sunday claimed Pakistan had credible intelligence reports that India was planning another act of aggression against it between April 16-20.

Speaking at a news conference in Multan, he said in order to justify its military action and increase diplomatic pressure against Pakistan, India can create a new drama in Kashmir on the pattern of Pulwama.

The foreign minister said keeping in view these facts, the foreign office immediately decided to hold a meeting of P5 ambassadors.

“The foreign secretary invited the ambassadors of permanent members of UN Security Council and apprised them of Pakistan’s apprehensions on developments taking place in India,” he added. He said Pakistan acted maturely and responsibly after the February 26 aggression of India and made sincere efforts to deescalate the situation.

Meanwhile, India on Sunday rejected as “irresponsible and preposterous” the Pakistan foreign minister’s claims.

In a strongly worded statement, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said the comments by the Pakistani foreign minister is aimed at whipping up war hysteria in the region. “India rejects the irresponsible and preposterous statement by the foreign minister of Pakistan with a clear objective of whipping up war hysteria in the region. This public gimmick appears to be a call to Pakistan-based terrorists to undertake an attack in India," Kumar said.
