Islamabad: Former Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif day, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Mohammed Safdar on Saturday declined to take additional facilities in Adiala jail, their lawyers said.
Speaking to reporters here, Mr Sharif’s counsel Amjad Pervez said that Nawaz Sharif wanted to stay in the jail as an ordinary Pakistani and had refused offers for additional facilities.
He said Mr Sharif was determined and hopeful of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz)’s victory in the upcoming polls.
Sharif family’s lawyers Khawaja Harris and Amjad Pervez were allowed to meet ex-PM, his daughter and son-in-law in jail earlier in the day.
Sources said they exchanged views over the petition that was filed in Islamabad High Court (IHC) against Avenfield decision while they also discussed the issue of transferring Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investments references.
On Friday, leaders of PML-N and members of Sharif family had met Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz in Adiala jail after their arrest.
