Two young contemporary artists, Unnikrishanan T.T. and Kiran Govind, named their exhibition ‘Untitled’, because they believe modern art doesn’t need a name. When you name an art, the viewers have the tendency to restrict their thoughts around it.

“The works we are showcasing are based on abstract ideas which have a vast visual sense. Art is all about expanding one’s thought,” says Unni Krishanan, who works as an assistant art director in films. Kiran Govind works in a graphics team of a major TV channel.

The collection of 26 paintings sized 4’x4’ canvas has two bases — a shadow base and a flow base. “The paintings depict abstract things in life. It could be a dream or certain emotions. These flows of emotions merge with the flow of nature’s moments and that is what we are trying to portray through our paintings,” says Unni.

The acrylic paintings use bright colours and signifies the flow of life.

‘Untitled’ is open for public view at Durbar Hall Art Gallery and will be open till November 17 (Sunday).
