Swinger man
2013 was one of the best years for Anirban Lahiri
Know him
The 25-year-old is swinging his way to the top. The year 2013 has been a rewarding year for this Army brat as far as his career graph is concerned.
The Year That Was
The golfer says his consistency through out the year was his biggest achievement in 2013. “My scoring levels have improved and I feel I have become more versatile in my ability to adapt to different conditions and types of golf courses,” states Anirban.
The Year That Shall Be
“I will be concentrating on breaking into the top 100 in the world and qualifying for the European Tour next year. My game has matured to a level where I can be competitive against the best players in the world. Winning the order of merit in Asia is another goal that I want to pursue,” he adds.
Emblem
The meditating Buddha is a symbol Anirban finds easy to relate to. He says, “Personally and professionally, I strive to attain a calm and aware state of mind which allows me to be at peace with myself and my surroundings. Hopefully, I can progress more towards that in the time to come.”
The High
He won his third Asian Tour title, the PGTI Players Championship at Oxford Golf Club in Pune and the Eagleburg Open in Bengaluru on the Professional Golf Tour of India. “I loved playing for India at the world cup in Melbourne,” says the proud golfer.
The low
He was very disappointed that he finished second instead of first place at the Indian Open. The partial ligament tear was a hindrance in his games but the golfer is working hard to over come it.
