Capturing spirituality
Photographer Amita Talwar is on a mission to use art as a medium to reach out to the needy
City photographer Amita Talwar’s travels across the country are evident in the photographs on display at her solo exhibition, which is part of her venture Art for Causes. The images have a certain spiritual aura to them, as Amita explains, “I tend to capture the spiritual element of places. Of all the places I’ve visited, Varanasi is the most special because of its spirituality.”
Amita will be donating the sale proceeds from the exhibition to six NGOs and charitable organisations working with diverse causes like helping the aged and children with cancer to reaching out to animals. Her plans now include going beyond conventional fundraising activities to collaborating with more artists and bring art to people, while serving the needy at the same time.
