Los Angeles: Salma Hayek's brother Sami cut his head and broke his ribs when he lost control over his car and collided with a truck that left a man dead and injured three others.
Sami, 40, was driving a 2006 Ford GT sports car on Sunset Boulevard around 4:50pm on February 23, when he lost control and crossed into the opposite lane, hitting a pickup truck.
A 43-year-old man from Mexico, Hayek's passenger, died on the spot while the 20-year-old driver of the truck broke his foot in the mishap, reported People magazine.
Hayek himself cut his head and broke several of his ribs. He was taken to Ronald Reagon UCLA Medical centre for treatment.
Police said it is too early to say what caused the crash or at what speed Hayek was driving the car.
