A fashionably late-night show
While Edward Maya appeared 90 minutes late, the crowd was kept entertained by singer Sreeram Chandra
The roads at Meerpet were packed on Tuesday evening as students from various colleges across the city made their way towards T.K.R College of Engineering, where Edward Maya was to perform. Though the show started two hours late, the crowd did not seem to mind and the organisers were happy that rain did not act a spoilsport.
Meanwhile, due to the delay, playback singer Sreeram Chandra, who was invited as a guest for the evening, took the stage to keep the crowd entertained. Starting off with Balma from Khiladi 786, he continued with his hit track from 2013, Shubhanallah and also picked a ‘lucky girl’ from the crowd for the performance.
Things, however, took an unforeseen turn when the singer fell off the stage while performing a track from Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwani. As the crowd started getting worried, he assured that he was ok and bounced back on stage with T. Krishna Reddy, the chief guest for the evening, and continued with his performance.
The evening then continued with the War of DJs. The competition kept people glued to the dance floor, with DJ Chandu winning the title. It was at 10.30 pm when the crowd finally got a glimpse of Edward Maya, who was fashionably late by over 90 minutes. After than king the crowd at T.K.R for being patient, Edward started his performance and sang some hit numbers. The crowd cheered the loudest when he played an instrumental version of his hit track Stereo Love on the piano.
