Wellington: People nowadays are hiring lifestyle managers to handle life’s mundane errands like relationship breakups, arranging restaurant and flowers for dates and planning overseas holidays in order to organize their life, it has been revealed.

Kay Marco, co-founder of the Australasian Institute of Concierge and Lifestyle Managers, said the number of lifestyle management businesses had increased by 60 percent in Australia and New Zealand in the last four years.

The most popular services that these managers provide were the outsourcing of domestic chores, such as finding reliable tradespeople, researching product price comparisons or locating hard-to-find products.

Marco said that in more extreme cases, members have been asked to buy smoothies for clients with hangovers, buy husbands a new all-bells-and-whistles toilet and having a stray cat relocated from Guam.

He said that people are willing to pay for leisure time by outsourcing day-to-day tasks as it is a modern solution to this age-old issue.
