Kochi: The small screen audience is familiar with Sruthy Madhavan’s pretty face and twinkling eyes after watching her on TV for the past few years. Now the charming girl has graduated to the silver screen with substantial roles in films like Third World Boys. The girl, who will undoubtedly impress movie-goers with head-turning performances, is cast opposite Wilson Joseph of Neram fame in the film.

The actress is thrilled to be a part of the glamorous world of M-town. “Yes, I am very happy!” says a giggling Sruthy. The actress-cum-model-cum-anchor started out her acting career in Chumma-Just Fun, a sit-com, before joining films.

Sruthy was taken by surprise to be cast opposite Wilson, who acted with her in the sit-com. “Since we knew each other since the Chumma days, it was easy and comfortable for me to act with him in Third World Boys,” says Sruthy.

The bubbly girl gives Chumma and her friends all the credit for bringing her to the glamour world. “Earlier, I was anchoring music shows on TV channels and that’s when the director of the serial offered me the role. It was a turning point in my life. My friends and viewers of the serial told me that my acting was natural and that I should act in more projects,” recollects Sruthy.

Modelling is another aspect that fascinates the post graduate student of Applied Chemistry. “Modelling and acting are what give me bliss. I was one of the Amrita Supermodel finalists and that was when I discovered the model in me,” smiles Sruthy, who has been the face of many advertisements and popular designers in the city.

In future, the multi-tasking girl who wishes to be known as a talented actress, dreams to launch an exclusive new-gen boutique in Kochi. “I have a passion for colours and designing. My friends, who are my biggest support system, keep admiring the outfits I wear and call me a future ‘stylist’,” says Sruthy enthusiastically.

She is waiting to give the nod to some good roles in Tamil and Malayalam movies.
