Mumbai: Being a perfect ‘bahu’ is not everyone’s cup of tea. Though this young girl loses the prospect of becoming a ‘potential’ daughter-in-law, she makes a stern point, when she says, “I’m not a kitchen appliance.”

Following the arranged marriage norm, a girl willingly meets the groom’s mother but politely puts across her message. With the Havells TVC advertisement for coffeemakers, it took just 35 seconds to show “auntyji” the distinction between a coffee-maker and a home-maker. 

This wonderful short advertisement is a spectacular satire that breaks the gender stereotypes for women.
