Mumbai: If you are an avid Instagrammer, you would notice that the pelfies have been doing the rounds for sometime now with Alia Bhatt posting photographs regularly with her cat and Sonam Kapoor posting a few with her dog. Not far behind, are Hyderabadis who have their own stories with pelfies.

Mohd. Zabi Khan, a pet lover, says it is just normal for him to take at least five-six pelfies with his cat, Dora, or parakeet, Cubzee, in a day. “My cat has been with me since she was a month old and I guess by know she’s quite used to the idea of being clicked for a pelfie. My parakeet, on the other hand, is the troublesome one and I have to click almost about 50 pelfies if I want a good one.”

With animals being restless and moving around, that’s a problem that many face. But Shruti Darak, a dog lover, has found the perfect solution for it.

She passes on the tip to us, “When you are clicking a pelfie just hold food in the same hand as your camera. Trust me, you will get the undivided attention of your pet. I recently found this out and ever since then, clicking a photograph with my dog Stepie is very easy.”

The social media is not too far away when we are talking about photographs. C.G. Chitra, a foster parent for cats, has just too many photographs with all the cats she rescues on Facebook.

“I believe these pelfies show the closeness between a pet lover and the pet. My most ‘liked’ photograph is with a two-month old kitten Isro. In fact, I have more likes for the photographs with the cats than the ones with my husband,” she laughs.
