Bollywood remembers Pancham da on his 75th birth anniversary

Mumbai:  Several Bollywood stars led by his singer wife Asha Bhosle remembered music legend R D Burman on his 75th birth anniversary. Singers, actors and directors took to Twitter to pay tribute to the music maestro, who was fondly called Pancham-da. Bhosle said, "Remembering Pancham and those special moments in time that we shared."

The duo collaborated on several hit songs like 'Piya Tu Ab To Aja', 'Katra Katra', Tu Tu Hain Wahi', 'Chura Liya Hain Tumne', 'Dum Maaro Dum' among others. Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who worked with the music director in super hit film '1942: A Love Story', paid tribute to Burman by sharing a song from the Anil Kapoor-Manisha Koirala starrer. "Happy birthday week to Panchamda! In tribute," Chopra posted along with the link to the song 'Kuch na kaho'.

Music composer Vishal Dadlani wished Panchan Da on his birthday and also shared that American rapper Timbaland is a huge fan of the late musician. "75th birthday of RD Burman, aka Pancham aka (as Timbaland referred to him when he told me what a big fan he is) RD Burns," Dadlani tweeted.

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar said, "75 years ago today, a musical genius was born. His tunes stole our hearts & do so even now. Pancham Da, you rock! We miss you. Happy Birthday." 'Kahaani' helmer Sujoy Ghosh, a self-confessed Panchan da fan, tweeted, "Happy birthday RD Burman. May you and your music live forever."

National award-winning director Hansal Mehta remembered Burman by sharing his favourite composition of the music legend. "'Monmajhi Re' from the album Anyay Abichar by Bhagwan Shree R D Burman," he posted.

Ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra said, "Today is the 75th birth anniversary of the legendary R D Burman. His music I love." Singers Debojit Saha, Monali Thakur and director Kunal Kohli also wished Burman on his birth anniversary.
