Mumbai: The buzz in B-town of late has been all about an alleged rift between Karan Johar’s “students” — Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra.

Whispers of a fight between the two former co-debutants at KJo’s party have been circulating for a while now. However, Varun says there is no truth to these rumours.

“This is rubbish, we have always been friends and there is nothing more to that,” the actor said. He also added that despite being busy with the promotions for his film (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya), he had still made it a point to watch Sidharth’s just-released Ek Villain.

“I spoke to him and congratulated him on the film’s success. When you are genuinely friends with someone, all this talk does not matter,” Varun said.

Incidentally, Ek Villain also starred Varun’s childhood buddy Shraddha Kapoor, opposite whom he will soon feature in ABCD 2. He says he is looking forward to the experience.

“Shraddha and I have been friends for so long. I never thought that one day, we’d act together in a film. We start shooting only after I wrap up Badlapur, so there is still some time, but we are currently attending dance workshops together,” Varun said.
