Ra Ra Krishnayya sued by Tips Industries Ltd
Tips filed a case of injunction against the producer for copying a Hindi movie
Hyderabad: Producer Vamsi Krishna Srinivas’ Ra Ra Krishnayya, which released earlier this month, has got into trouble with Tips Industries Ltd.
On Wednesday, Tips filed a case of injunction against the producer for remaking its 2012 Hindi rom-com Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya in Telugu as Ra Ra Krishnayya under the banner, S.V.K. Cinemas, in contravention of The Copyrights Act.
The company stated in a press release, “The plot, form, manner, arrangement and expression of the plot and story conceived in Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya and the prominent characters in the film are very similar in Ra Ra Krishnayya, including the depiction of the personalities of the characters in both the films.”
But the producer refuted the claims.
Vamsi said, “I have received the notice, but my movie is not any remake. The script of Ra Ra Krishnayya is original. If there is any resemblance in the characterisation or the plot, it is purely a coincidence. I have replied to Tips on the issue.”
Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza had starred in Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya.
