World No. 1 Novak Djokovic made a guest appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman, where he spoke about his title chances at next week’s US Open. As he shared his preparations for the year’s final Major, Letterman complimented the Serbian. “You look to be in tremendous physical condition,” said the long-time talk show host. “Are you?”
“Are you asking me to take off my shirt now?” Djokovic asked with a laugh, as the audience egged him on with loud cheers.

“If you’d be more comfortable, then go ahead,” replied Letterman. On a more serious note, Djokovic also spoke at length about the dangers he faced as a child growing up in war-torn Belgrade and how that shaped him. He also told Letterman about being inspired by the Sampras Agassi rivalry, the effect technology is having on tennis and his “out of body experience” during his epic Australian Open final with Rafael Nadal. Djokovic will be the top seed at the US Open, and is looking to reclaim the title he won in 2011 after runner-up finishes the past two years.
