'It's normal' for people to lie on their profile
People admitted they were likelier to go on a date with someone with an exciting job
London: A UK online dating site that caters to married people has revealed that it is all right to lie to get a date.
A spokesperson for Illicit Encounters said that one should present himself as a person who he wanted to be, rather than who he was because people judged others on what they did and not on what they were, the Daily Star reported.
The spokesperson added that their members were "rarely disappointed" about the white lies when they met each other and that, the people who had or claimed to have exciting or interesting jobs were up to three times likelier to find a date.
Both men and women admitted they were likelier to go on a date with someone with an exciting job, like archaeologist or racing driver, despite their appearance.
