Manoharudu sold for Rs 30 crore

Film has surpassed the figure once commanded by the Rajini-starrer Robot

Hyderabad: Producer Ascar Ravichandran’s Rs 180-crore film Ai will be released in Telugu as Manoharudu. Shankar, an acclaimed director, has made the film and the producer, all praise for the film, is confident that it will create ripples in Indian cinema.

The film’s music is by A.R. Rahman. This Vikram and Amy Jackson-starrer has many Tollywood distributors vying for the rights for the Telugu version in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. As per latest industry reports, N.V. Prasad of Mega Super Good films has bagged the rights for a whopping Rs 30 crore. Till date, this is the highest price claimed by a Tamil film dubbed in Telugu. Earlier, the rights for superstar Rajnikanth’s film Robot was sold for Rs 27 crore, and now, Manoharudu has surpassed it.

The film’s audio release function will be held in Chennai on September 15, and Arnold Schwarzenegger will attend the function as the chief guest. The film is releasing globally on thousands of screens on October 22.
