Once 2K announced it’s acquisition of the WWE franchise, we knew that new life will get injected into the aging game. The rejuvenation comes in the shape of 2K’s acclaimed ‘My Career’ mode. First seen in the amazing NBA games, this mode will feature the ability to create your own wrestler or diva and put them through the paces as you climb the ladder towards wrestling superstardom.
You will start off in Florida under the tutelage of Bill DeMott at WWE’s development centre. After gaining sufficient skill and reputation you will move on to WWE’s internal talent development programme, NXT, where you will face off against other up and coming wrestlers like Rusev, SamiZayn. Only after you have gained enough reputation and skill will you represent yourself at the big leagues in RAW and SmackDown.
Over the course of your career, you will constantly be rewarded with costume unlocks and skills. The gist of the matter is, the more you play, the better your character gets. On paper this may seem a bit of a repetitive grind, however,, the ‘My Career’ mode has been a spectacular mode for fans that adds great value to the content of the game. Hopefully 2K will manage to lift the once proud franchise from the depths of drudgery that it has descended to.
