London: A new survey has demonstrated that mothers are the top cooks in family as they have a greater grip on what their children are eating.

The survey that approached 2,000 children aged 5 to 12 showed that two out of three children left more of their fathers' meals, the Daily Express reported.

Fathers were praised for letting children eat what they want and giving bigger portions.

According to the survey, fathers prepared just three family meals while mothers cook seven.

Mothers made meal times more fun and have a wider repertoire.
