Volkswagen rolls out its new electric car
Volkswagen e-Golf can travel up to 83 miles on a single charge
It seems like the automobile industry is now seriously targeting on the alternate sources of fuel like natural gas and electricity. Volkswagen has launched its electric car model, ‘e-Golf’, which features an integrated rear spoiler and Rear logo-integrated hatch handle.
The most-awaited Volkswagen e-Golf can travel up to 83 miles on a single charge. The company stated that the solid German-engineered drive on the Volkswagen e-Golf and earns its place as Motor Trend’s 2015 Car of the Year. The electric Volkswagen features 16-inch Astona alloy wheels with low rolling resistance tyres. The e-Golf also carries equipments like Servotronic steering system, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, heated windshield washer nozzles, power-assisted front vented disc brakes and rear solid disc brakes. Window diversity antenna and 4-corner independent suspension with front MacPherson struts, 4-link rear suspension and stabilizer bars are some of the other onboard features.
The e-Golf has around 52.7 cu. ft. of interior space when the rear seats are folded down. Climatronic dual-zone automatic climate control with pollen filter/ rear passenger ventilation and also comes with driver and passenger visor vanity mirrors are some of the features of its interiors.
The seats have V-Tex leatherette surfaces, which comes with a front center armrest that is also adjustable with storage compartment. The front seats of Volkwagen e-Golf feature a 8-way (partial power-adjustable), including lumbar support.
The e-Golf is equipped with a 115-hp electric motor and 199 lb-ft of torque. You can switch between three driving modes, which include Normal, Eco amd Eco+ modes. One can charge the e-Golf at home using the 240V wall outlet at any ChargePoint or public charging station.
