Mumbai:  The relationship between the underworld and Bollywood has always been a troubled one. According to reports, underworld don Ravi Pujari had plotted to kill Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his family members earlier too, but his plans could not materialise, police said on Tuesday. This was revealed during interrogation of 13 members of Pujari's gang who have been arrested for allegedly conspiring to kill Bhatt and his family members.

According to television reports, some of them were also involved in firing outside the residence of Bollywood film producer-brothers Karim and Ali Morani on 23 August. Police sources claim that interrogation of the suspects revealed that after the shooting at Morani's home, Ravi Pujari had ordered the gang to inspect the home of Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan's office. The gang had also been monitoring Mahesh Bhatt's movements for quite some time.

This is not the first time that Pujari has targeted Bollywood biggies. Earlier, security at Shah Rukh Khan's house was tightened after allegedly receiving threatening calls from the don. Sonu Sood, Morani brothers and Boman Irani were also on the hit-list of the underworld don apart from Mahesh Bhatt. In the past one year, threat calls have been made to Salman Khan, Farhan Akhtar and filmmaker Ritesh Sidhwani by Pujari.
