Christmas is almost here and with it comes the party season. And if you are planning to host a Christmas-themed party or dinner at home, here are a few décor tips that will make sure you have the best party in town.

During the Christmas season, the colours you can never go wrong with are red, green and silver but event organiser Meher Aria has another idea too, “Those are the colours that everyone opts for but another beautiful concept is to have a complete white Christmas theme.” And she also talks about how you can deck it up, “Make sure to have a lot of lights. Be it fairy lights or candles and lanterns. For an outdoor setup, something you can never go wrong with are lit-up stars. You can put them up in your foyer or porch and they will look amazing.”

And of course, a décor is never complete without a Christmas tree. While Meher suggests a Christmas tree made out of lights, interior designer Shipra Chenji says, “Let your décor revolve around the Christmas tree. Right from the upholstery in terms of curtains, cushion covers to the dinner table set-up, have it all in the Christmas colours. You can even have gold and silver trimmings or Christmas buntings that are easily available in the market. A DIY décor item are snowflake cut-outs from paper.”

While the décor is all about lights and Christmas colours, another vital part is the dinner table.  “This is the time to bring out all your tucked away expensive cutlery and silverware and lay it all out on the table. A nice idea is to have a three-tier cake stand with desserts and Christmas goodies placed in the centre of the table. Or you can have a mini Christmas tree with tiny gifts or candies in the centre,” says Shipra. And Meher agrees. “With thematic linen (a great idea would be to use embroidered linen or a white lace cloth) adorning your table and dress up the centre with a lot of accessories,” says Meher.
