Apple has been runmoured to be working on a large-screen display for the next iPad. Samsung already has their large mammoths in the market. However, new reports state that Sony is soon joining the bandwagon of large-screen tablets.

According to a report on Mobileburn, Sony is allegedly building a large pro-like tablet, scheduled to be unveiled in 2015. The report states that Sony’s tablet will feature a 12.9-inch display with a shopping 3840x2400 pixel resolution and will be driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

Additional information reveals that the tablet will sport an 8.6mm thick chassis and will feature an 8MP camera. The Sony tablet will not come in cheap though, as the report speculates that the device would cost upwards of $1,000 (approx Rs 60,000 and above).

As Sony is giving most of their devices the waterproof and dustproof chassis, we expect this one too to be built on the same lines.

Mobileburn also stated that the Sony tablets would be manufactured by Pentagon, the company behind various Apple products.
