Anushka Sharma’s beauty secret
Anushka always follows the look of her characters
For all those times that Anushka Sharma has lit up the screen, there’s one woman who can partly take the credit. Puneet B. Saini, Anushka’s make-up artist has been working with her since her Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl days to the recently released pk.
So, how did the latter shape up? “Raju (Hirani) sir was very keen that she sports short hair and a fresh look throughout the film. Since she was playing a college girl-turned-journalist, I gave her muted pink and peach tones initially and later used more kohl in the eyes,” says Puneet.
Having worked closely with the actress for so long, how does she think Anushka has evolved? “Anushka always follows the look of her characters she’s as real as her role requires her to be.
If the character requires her to be glamorous, I make her look so and if her character requires her to look like a girl-next- door, then I make sure that she looks like that.
It’s important that the make-up is a part of her entire personality in the film and doesn’t stand out unnecessarily.” Puneet insists on keeping the looks of her films NH10 and Bombay Velvet under wraps though.
- Steps to get the pk look right:
- Use cream blushes in either pink or peach to give a flushed romantic feel to the skin.
- A hint of kohl in brown or black can be used for women who absolutely can’t stay without it.
- Soft brown eyeshadow can be used to define the eyes a bit (any brand that carries matte eyeshadows can be used).
- You can also use individual lashes to enhance your lash line that will result in a more natural and young look.
- You can use a micro felt tip black liner to create an invisible line on your upper lash line to increase intensity without any stark lines.
- For the mouth you can use muted pink or peach colour shades that have a velvety matte finish for a more natural look.
