Our nose plays an important role when tasting food
London: Snorting chocolates has become the latest fad amongst partygoers, with over 25,000 kits to inhale cocoa powder been sold worldwide.
The trend first came about on rocker Ronnie Wood's birthday, which was created by Belgian chocolatier Dominique Persoone as Chocolate Shooter for the Rolling Stone's bash in 2008, the Daily Star reported.
The shooters were available only in Persoone's Antwerp store and online, but now shops are stocking the shooter and the website said that recent research has shown how important our nose is to us when tasting food and sniffing cocoa with raspberry or ginger and mint with help enhance the pleasure of the chocolate experience.
The gizmo comes with instructions, which reads that one needs to fill two spoons with powder, smooth over, while adjusting the opening between the spoons to the width of the nose, tightening the shooter and placing the spoons under the nose, before sniffing.
