Visitors to Zabeel Park can look forward to an outdoor festival like no other
Dubai: Renowned Chef Sanjeev Kapoor will showcase his talent and expertise at the Masala! Food Fair, which will take place at Zabeel Park on February 20 and 21 as part of the Dubai Food Festival.
From indulging in finger-licking street food to watching high-profile chefs showcase their talent on stage and participating in live competitions judged by the celebrities, to shopping for food-related goodies, this two-day outdoor festival promises something for everyone that is not-to-be-missed.
"Being a global ambassador for Indian cuisine is a source of great pride for me and to be given an opportunity to interact with food-lovers from all over at the first ever Masala! Food Fair is very exciting," said Kapoor, who will be part of a live stage show on day one of the event.
"This event is designed to celebrate the influence of the South Asian diaspora in the UAE and I am looking forward to taking visitors on a beautiful and memorable culinary journey," he added.
The renowned chef will also host a series of interactive culinary sessions and judge on-site competitions.
Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, who will also be at the show on the second day, said that she is looking forward to being at Masala! Food Fair. I
"Well, I've never been to a food fair before, so it's a first for me, and I always love to try out new stuff. So yes, I am definitely looking forward to being at Masala! Food Fair" she said.
Debra Greenwood, the director of Dubai Food Festival (DFF), said the Masala! Food Fair is a part of Dubai Food Festival's robust line-up of events.
"The subcontinent's rich and diverse culinary traditions are firmly rooted in Dubai's foodie culture and restaurant scene. We are excited that residents as well as tourists from around the world attending this event will get to experience the diversity, creativity and multi-cultural nature of Dubai's culinary offering - influenced by the flavours of the 200 nationalities that live in Dubai," said Greenwood.

"From the moment our visitors walk through the gates of Zabeel Park they will be taken on an unforgettable culinary journey through the subcontinent. Great food, great weather and great entertainment... the Masala! Food Fair promises all this and more," said Kavita Srinivasan, Editor at ITP Publishing, organizers of the Masala! Food Fair.
International music acts are also being confirmed to entertain the crowds and these will be announced in the run-up to the fair. Food challenges, demonstrations and competitions will add to the festive atmosphere.
