Mumbai: Distributors of Rajinikanth's starrer ‘Lingaa’ have decided to go on a mass begging protest. They had demanded a compensation for the heavy losses incurred while distributing and exhibiting the film.

Following the hunger strike last month, producer Rockline Venkatesh had agreed to reimburse 10 per cent of the losses incurred by the distributors, who turned down the offer. Their plea to refund Rs 35 crore was declined by the producer and hence they have decided to beg for compensation.

Reportedly, it was decided that the distributors will be compensated after extensive accounting of the losses. Rajinikanth had appointed distributor Tirupur Subramanian to take hold of the matter.

Producer Venkatesh claims that Eros International had bought the theatrical rights of the film at a whopping price of over Rs 100 crore. He had claimed that the film will do better business than ‘Enthiran’. The mass begging protest is expected to begin on February 17 outside actor Rajinikanth's residence.

The film directed by KS Ravikumar also featured actresses Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty in lead roles.
