For a true tobacco aficionado, the art of getting high lies in the way its rolled and savoured. An expensive indulgence, cigars are that celebration of an eclectic spirit through culture. The staggering cost of some of the most exclusive cigars are capable of burning a hole in your pocket. Here’s a list of some of the most premium and expensive cigars in the world that will make you say, “Holy smoke!”.

Gurkha His Majesty’s Reserve (HMR)

For years, Gurkha has been known as the “Rolls Royce” of the cigar industry. This cigar is made from the most expensive cognac and premium tobacco and rolled with a rare aged Dominican wrapper with a blend of filler tobacco. And once the cigars are rolled, they then undergo a unique infusion process that involves an entire bottle of Louis XIII Cognac. Fewer than 100 boxes of HMR are produced each year and reportedly each box costs between $25,000 and $30,000.

Gurkha’s The Black Dragon
It is one of the most expensive cigars in the market and Gurkha’s The Black Dragon surpasses the HMR in both quality and price. Released in 2006 as a limited edition line, these cigars contain an international mix of tobaccos beneath its leafy wrapper. At $115,000 a box or $1,150 per cigar, these cigars are both expensive and prestigious.

These cigars were made in 2001 to celebrate Arturo Fuente Cigar Companies 100th anniversary. These cigars are made from Chateau de la Fuente wrapper leaves. Each Prometheus-made humidor comes with 96 cigars in natural and sun-grown flavours and the cost of a box goes upto $7,500.

Cohiba Behike
Cuba’s most famous cigar brand introduced Behike back in 2006. Considered a very limited edition cigar, a box of this brand costs around $18,800. The Behike tobacco is grown and blended at the El Laguito Cohiba factory and the varieties used come mostly from Pinar del Rio and Vuelto region in Cuba. The Cohiba Behike cigar measures around 7.5 inches long and comes in a humidor made in France by Elie Blue.

King Of Denmark cigar

Royal Danish Cigars’ aka the King of Denmark cigar is one of the most sought-after cigars among the rich and the famous of the world. Standing long at nine inches, it comes decorated with 10 Swarovski crystals. Hand-rolled Regal Blend tobacco leaf cigars are produced in batches of only 30 cigars a day. These gold foil wrapped cigars are embossed with buyers name and the cigar is then put in a personalised Scandinavian designed humidor with a 24 karat gold plated sterling silver royal crown on the top. The total cost of a box of 60 is a whopping $4,500.
