Washington: A groom was recently arrested because he forgot his bride's name at a "sham wedding" he arranged in UK.

According to AOL, Zubair Khan was forced to phone his uncle to get the name of his bride-to-be during the first appointment with the official due to conduct the ceremony. The groom forgot his future wife's name and told the registrar that they communicated only by laptop. The registrar took this incident as a red flag and he called the immigration.

Khan, from Pakistan, was there on a student visa that was about to expire.  But marrying Szilagyi, who's Hungarian, would have allowed him to stay.

The two men are sentenced to 20 months of prison and the ‘almost-bride’ has been sentenced to 17 months of jail.
