RCB fans are cheering largely for the Mumbai Indians
They came close, almost crawled to the semi-finals and fought nail and tooth on the pitch. Although our home team couldn’t make it, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have earned their right to get to where they are.

As the two teams get set to battle it out today for the top position in the Indian Premiere League 2015, we catch in on all the frenzy that Bengalureans have planned and the team they’re cheering for. All eyes will be on the finals at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

It’s the sixth time CSK has made it to the finals and that’s no mean feat. Anshul Chodha, an architect and a self-confessed Dhoni fan, exclaims, “CSK is the most well balanced side and has some really exciting players. Captain cool Dhoni is my favourite competitor other than Mccullum (who won’t be playing the final). I haven’t yet planned a party to watch the finals and may just watch it in the luxury of my bed with some single malts lined up for company. We might just end up going to a friend’s place also to catch the finals.”

Local fashion designer Bassam Osman, admits he’s too excited to be just watching his favourite team one match away from the IPL cup. “I’m rooting for CSK because they are an understated team built on a strong foundation and have made it to six finals out of eight. With their strategic thinking and no frills attitude much like us South Indians, they have a huge fan in me. I’m going with my group of friends to Watsons to watch the match on the large screen there. We will just end up with a few friends at home, so we can go crazy when CSK wins.”

On the other hand, Danish Sait, an avid T20 cricket fan, who was an RCB insider, is showing his loyalties towards Mumbai Indians. Just before one match away from the IPL cup, he shares, “I can’t think of supporting any other team besides RCB! But, now that they’re out of the league, I’ll go with Mumbai. The only reason why I’m rooting for Mumbai is that I will never support Chennai as it is the team that beat us. I’m planned a party at home with some friends to watch the finals.” Katherene Deborah Abel of Kathy’s/Ms.K cupcakes, agrees, “I’m a huge RCB fan and will be rooting for Mumbai Indians since CSK stole our thunder with a large group of friends at a bar in Indiranagar.”
