Sanju’s script keeps Umesh up at night

 

Deccan Chroncile was the first to tell you that Umesh Shukla has signed Sanjay Dutt for a film that will go on the floors once the latter’s jail sentence comes to an end. But in Dutt’s absence, his wife Manyata has been going through the scripts that are offered to him. Umesh reportedly met Sanjay when he was out of Yerwada Jail on parole, to discuss the project. After getting a go-ahead from the actor for the concept, Umesh is now working on finalising the script’s draft.

 

However, he has All Is Well to finish and shoot an important song with Sonakshi Sinha in the coming days. Since that takes up most of his time, he has been burning the midnight oil, sitting up through the nights with his team to work on the script for Sanjay’s film. 

 

A source close to the director told us, “Umesh writes his own scripts and spends a lot of time before taking a film on the floors. He is keenly aware that he needs to present Sanjay in a certain manner on screen and the script and treatment need to suit that. So he’s juggling the post-production of All Is Well and the writing for this project.”
